POV: Point of View
The poem is written in first person. The speaker within the poem is a mere observer in a rainy area who ponders over his regretful past. The speaker addresses no one specifically, but states a recollection of his observation. The use of first person allows the reader to see the inner dwellings of a human being who is regreting over his missed opportunties in life. Through this personal appeal, the reader can relate and feel emphatic toward the speaker who trys to relate nature to his life's failures.
