Title RevisitedAfter thoroughly analyzing and reading the "Storm Windows", one can now understand the purpose of such a title. Storm windows are used as a protection from the cold weather. Using this same protection, however, can be detrimental when being too cautious and missing opportunties in life. One cannot live life by always staying behind the "window" whenever trouble comes. This is proven when the "people" in the poem are " [driven]" out by the "heavy rain." These people are the cowards who hide behind the see through window which crushes their missed opportunities or "grass" and is constantly reminded of their faults by the overflowing "brimful... bouncing water." Therefore, the title acts as a symbol of a visible barrier of troubles that will eventually be a barrier to live life.
